SUMMERTIME

Having grown up in Southern Minnesota where trees, green and farm fields dominate the landscape, my roots called me north this summer.  I spent two weeks vacationing and painting in Door County, WI while enjoying the cool weather moderated by Green Bay and Lake Michigan.  The Door County Plein Air painting festival was in full swing and it was fun to be near great plein air painters from across the country, but mainly from the Midwest.

I love painting a variety of subjects believing by loving much, I can accomplish much.  Vincent Van Gogh thought that which was done with love was done well.     I draw inspiration from some of my favorite painters: Qiang Huang, Richard Schmid and Kevin Macpherson.
